While employees of Air India had organised a strike back in 2011, it is for the first time that private airlines are facing serious stress related to workers. IndiGo witnessed two of them, back to back. In the first instance, around 50 per cent of the IndiGo flights were delayed as a large number of crew members went on mass sick leave, apparently to participate in a rival airline's walk-in job interview.

Mohan is protesting the lack of facilities in Bhagalpur Jail, where he is currently lodged. Moreover, Anand Mohan was also irked by the jail authorities' decision to separate him from his associates -- former MLA and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Akhlaq Ahmed and Arun Kumar.

Officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday interrogated Priyanka Todi, daughter of prime accused Ashok Todi and widow of Muslim computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances a few days after his marriage. According to CBI sources, Priyanka fully cooperated with the officers and answered all their questions. In the last four days, the CBI has interrogated more than 20 people and has obtained helpful clues.

Public sector banks' cumulative profit crossed the Rs 1 lakh crore-mark in the financial year ended March 2023, with market leader State Bank of India (SBI) accounting for nearly half of the total earnings. From posting a total net loss of Rs 85,390 crore in 2017-18, the Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have come a long way as their profit touched Rs 1,04,649 crore in 2022-23, according to an analysis of their financial results. These 12 PSBs witnessed 57 per cent increase in total profit compared to Rs 66,539.98 crore earned in 2021-22.
